Staying in Omaha, Nebraska for our first official city visit in the six month road trip. We picked the Best Western Plus for price and family-friendliness.
Thanks @bestwestern for a perfect place to plant ourselves for 4 days.
Join us in this video for a boring morning of heading to breakfast!
PLEASE AVOID PRICELINE!!!! I JUST GOT CONNED BY THEM, and I have the receipts to prove it. The flight was fine, but they lied about the rental car and resort fee. The resort fee listed by Priceline was $310, but when I arrived at the resort, they told me it was actually $530.
The car rental experience was the worst. IF THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY IS NOT AT THE AIRPORT, DO NOT BOOK IT! I arrived at the airport and had to wait for the shuttle. I called the rental company four times, and they finally showed up after 45 minutes. Here’s the fun part: they didn’t accept the insurance from Priceline. My only options were to buy their insurance or use my own car insurance. I have full coverage, but when I tried to use it, they told me I had to pay a $2000 deposit.
When I called Priceline for help, they flat out told me there was nothing they could do from their end. They offered to cancel my reservation, which would mean losing my reservation at the resort as well, plus I’d have to pay a cancellation fee. After going back and forth with them, I decided to pay for their insurance, which was $60 a day and a $150 deposit.
I then called the rental company back, and they promised to help me get a refund. That turned out to be another lie. I called them numerous times, but they refused to admit they messed up and left me stranded. I requested a call back, but instead received an email saying they couldn’t help me.
I wish I had read the negative reviews about Priceline before booking. There are so many complaints, and they are all true. In situations like this, your credit card company won’t help either. I tried reaching out to everyone, but they all refused assistance. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. PAY EXTRA AND BE SAFE ON YOUR TRIP.
