If you’re planning a summer trip that includes a rental car, you probably have some questions: Am I getting a good deal? Which are the best rental companies? Is it safe to connect to the car’s Bluetooth?

  1. Dont go through Budget no matter how low the price. Their deposit amounts can be anywhere from $300 to $15000 depending on you and your credit and how the wind blows.

I rent cars from most companies 3/4 times a year and agree with suggestions: National, enterprise and avis are my choices.

  2. We rented from Avis in Italy. We were quoted a price including insurance. When we got to the counter in Milan, the agent said “I don’t know what this is.” I told him the extra $350 was insurance. He baulked. “We booked through you.” He told us the $350 meant nothing and moved to sell us the $1000 insurance policy. Tired and frustrated we finally said fine, we’ll work it out later. When we called, they wouldn’t even consider a discussion until the care was returned. Fine. In the end they charged us double what was quoted. When we tried to sort it out, we got form letters. We’ll never rent from Avis again.

  3. I am currently using a rental car for almost 2 weeks and each day is around $38 dollars a day. I don’t know where they are getting double the price I am paying currently till my RAV4 is back up and going?

  4. Hertz is bad.

Half, 50%. Three out of four 75%. And additional 15%. Your math sucks. You are now at 140% of the people that rented cars.
